This 1992 Porsche 911 America Roadster is one of the 250 built during a two-year production run to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 356 America Roadster. The car was initially delivered to Pegasus Motorcars in Charlottesville, Virginia, and shows ownership history in Nebraska, Texas, California, and Washington. The 3.6-liter flat-six was removed from the car for service in April 2022 and a valve adjustment was performed and the valve cover gaskets, the chain cover gaskets, drive belts, and ignition components were replaced. Concurrently, the G50 five-speed manual transaxle received a replacement flywheel, clutch assembly, and slave cylinder. It is finished in Guards Red over black partial leather, and it features a Fister Sport exhaust system, KW adjustable coilover suspension, Elephant Racing bushings, and H&R wheel spacers as well as 17″ Cup alloy wheels and a black soft top. This 911 America Roadster shows 31k miles, and it is now offered by the selling dealer with a copy of the Manufacturer Certificate of Origin, an option sheet, a window sticker, service records dated from May 1993, the owner’s manual, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.
The America Roadster was a widebody variant of the 964 cabriolet, and this example is finished in Guards Red with a black soft top. Staggered-width 17″ Cup alloy wheels wear Bridgestone Potenza S-02A tires win 2016 date codes, and the selling dealer recommends replacement. The car shared braking and suspension components with the contemporary Turbo model. KW adjustable coilovers have been fitted along with Elephant Racing bushings and H&R wheel studs and spacers. An ABS relay was replaced in March 2021. The power steering pump bracket was resealed in April 2022.
The seats are trimmed in black partial leather with red piping and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, a Becker Porsche CR-210 cassette stereo, cruise control, and storage compartments in place of the rear seats. The air conditioning system has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline flanked by a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 31k miles.
The 3.6-liter flat-six was factory rated at 247 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque. An engine-out service was performed by Cantrell Motorsports in Bellevue, Washington in April 2022, which included performing a valve adjustment as well as replacing the valve cover gaskets, the chain cover gaskets, the intermediate shaft seal, drive belts, an oxygen sensor, spark plugs, the ignition rotor, distributor components, various seals, and the hood insulation pad. The timing chain boxes were resealed in September 2024, at which time an inspection was conducted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The car has been fitted with a Fister Sport exhaust system. The dual-mass flywheel, the clutch assembly, and the slave cylinder were replaced in April 2022.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Pegasus Motorcars of Charlottesville, Virginia, along with factory equipment, options, and a total price of $91,321.
