This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet was sold new from Contemporary Cars of Maitland, Florida and was acquired by the seller in 1993. Finished in Grand Prix White over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six mated to a G50 five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a 40% limited slip differential. Equipment includes 16″ BBS wheels, a black soft top, fog lights, factory short shifter, a whale-tail rear spoiler, power-adjustable front seats, a Blaupunkt CD stereo, cruise control, an alarm system, and air conditioning. Work in preparation for the sale involved rebuilding the axle shaft boots and replacing the convertible top, clutch slave cylinder, hood struts, and battery. This Carrera cabriolet is now offered with a window sticker, purchase documents, the owner’s manual, service records, two keys, and a Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Grand Prix White and features a power-retractable black soft top, a matching top boot, integrated fog lights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, and a rear spoiler. A replacement soft top was installed in 2024.
The 16″ BBS wheels feature gold-finished centers and are mounted with Yokohama tires up front and Cooper CS4 Touring tires at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in black leather. Amenities include a Blaupunkt CD stereo, an alarm system, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 40k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer was replaced under warranty in 1990 and an invoice in the gallery states that 8,423 miles were shown on the odometer at that time. The Florida title carries a “not actual mileage” brand.
The 3.2-liter M930/25 flat-six features Bosch Motronic engine management and was factory rated at 214 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The DME relay was replaced in 2022 and a fuel induction service was performed in 2023. Service in 2024 included replacing the heat shield, spark plugs, hood struts, and battery in addition to changing the oil. A June 2024 cylinder compressions test produced the following results:
Cylinder #1 – 160 lb at 5%
Cylinder #2 – 155 lb at 6%
Cylinder #3 – 155 lb at 5%
Cylinder #4 – 160 lb at 6%
Cylinder #5 – 150 lb at 6%
