Vehicle description
This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible underwent a multi-year refurbishment in the early 2000s, and work in 2022 involved overboring its 289ci V8 and fitting a replacement camshaft, pistons, and cylinder heads. Shifting is through a T-5 five-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in red over a red and white interior. Equipment includes a white soft top and top boot, 14″ styled steel wheels, front disc brakes, power steering, a Hurst shifter, a center console, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD player. Acquired by the owner in 2024, this Mustang is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a clean Florida title.
The car was refinished in red as part of the work that was completed in the early 2000s and is equipped with a white soft top and top boot. Paint blemishes are depicted in the gallery below.
Styled 14″ steel wheels are mounted with Firestone tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in red and white vinyl with a pony motif on the backrests, while woodgrain trim accents the dashboard. Appointments include a Hurst shifter, air conditioning, a center storage console, and an Alpine CD player.
The woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel fronts white-dial instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges, while an AutoMeter tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles.
The 289ci V8 was overhauled in 2000, and work performed in 2022 is said to include boring the engine .030″ over as well as installing a revised camshaft, forged pistons, roller rockers, and GT40P-specification cylinder heads.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a T-5 five-speed manual transmission that was installed in 2002.
