This 1967 Ford Mustang was modified and completed in 2021 by Classic Recreations with their GT500CR 545 package. Highlighting the alterations is the 545-horsepower Ford Racing 427ci V8, which is equipped with Holley fuel injection, BBK headers, and a Concept One pulley system. It is linked to a five-speed manual and a 9″ Fab 9 rear end with a Traction Lok differential and 3.70 gears, and the car rides on a modified suspension with a Mustang II front end, adjustable coilovers, subframe connectors, and front and rear sway bars as well as 18″ Halibrand-look wheels and Wilwood brakes. The carbon-fiber body was fitted with Shelby-style fiberglass modifications and sequential taillights, while inside a custom sound system, SCAT seats, a roll bar, and air conditioning were installed. This GT500 is now offered at no reserve in Connecticut by the selling dealer with a build sheet and a clean Florida title.
Classic Recreations installed a carbon-fiber body from SpeedKore Performance, and this example is believed to be the third built this way. Shelby fiberglass components were added before the car was refinished Pepper Gray, and the center stripes are exposed carbon weave. Sequential lights were added as well as GT500CR badges.
The car rides on a modified suspension with a Mustang II front end with coilovers from Rod & Custom, Total Control Products rear coilovers, subframe connectors, and front and rear sway bars. Power steering is from Rod & Custom as well.
The rear fender wells were mini-tubbed, and the car rides on 18×8″ front and 11″-wide rear American Racing Halibrand-look wheels. 245/35 front and 315/30 rear tires are mounted, and braking is from Wilwood, with a 13″ track-system front setup and a 12″ touring-system setup out back with slotted and cross-drilled discs.
SCAT Rally Series 1000 seats were installed along with G-Force Racing five-point camlock belts and a roll bar. Old Air products air conditioning was also fitted as well as an Alpine CD player with Bluetooth that is linked to Focal coaxial speakers and an FPX 5.1200 Focal D-class amplifier and subwoofer.
Classic Recreations installed a three-spoke woodgrain steering wheel, a Flaming River column, Classic Instruments gauges, a center console, and Deluxe door panels and dashboard trim. The 673 miles on the odometer represents the mileage since completion of the build.
The Ford Racing 427ci V8, which is equipped with Holley fuel injection, BBK headers, and a Concept One pulley system. A Be Cool radiator and MSD ignition were also fitted, and the Optima battery is mounted in the trunk.
The car was built with a Tremec five-speed manual link to a 9″ Fab 9 rear end with a Traction-Lok differential with 3.70 gears. The dual MagnaFlow mufflers flow into side-exit pipes.
