This 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190SL was acquired by the seller in 2011 and was restored in 2014, including a repaint in metallic gray over red leather upholstery. The car is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and equipment includes a black soft top, 13″ steel wheels with body-color hubcaps, a Becker AM/FM radio, a rear “Kinder” jump seat, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This 190SL is now offered with a data card, the owner’s manual, restoration photos and records, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car was initially refinished in white during the restoration and was later repainted metallic gray. Equipment includes a black convertible top and matching top boot as well as a driver-side mirror and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers.
Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and Vredestein tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats upholstered in red leather as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, a rear “Kinder” jump seat, lap belts, Coco floor mats, an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer was reset to zero at the time of the work and now shows 752 miles. Total chassis mileage is unknown.
The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four features dual Solex carburetors and was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission.
